Kenya has confirmed seven more coronavirus cases bringing the total number of infections to 38.
Confirming the new numbers was Health CS Mutahi Kagwe who said the seven are three females and four men.
He continued by further confirming that the seven are four Kenyans, two Congolese and one Chinese.
“Seven more people have tested positive of coronavirus, four Kenyans, two Congolese and one Chinese, bringing the total to 38,” CS Health Mutahi Kagwe.
Four of the seven had a history of travel from countries with active transmission, one had traveled to Mombasa while two did not have any travel history.
“In the last twenty-four hours, a total of 81 samples from suspected cases of Coronavirus have been analyzed in various laboratories. All the seven confirmed cases are from Nairobi County.”
Nairobi now leads with the highest number of infections standing at 28, Kilifi second with six cases, Mombasa with two and Kwale and Kajiado with one case each.
“This now puts Nairobi Country as leading with 28 cases of those who have so far tested positive, followed by Kilifi with six, Mombasa with two, while Kajiado and Kwale with one each. Out of the 38 positive cases, 21 are male while 16 are female.”
The number of 1141 people are being monitored with a total of 163 people have been released after completing a mandatory 14 days quarantine period.
