On Monday morning Kiambu Law Court has ruled that Citizen TV presenter Jacque Maribe will be detained for 10 more days.
According to the prosecution, they requested for 14 more days arguing that statements need to be collected from family and friends.
In addition to that DNA samples need more time for the results to be finalized. The Magistrate was however categorical that the accused should not be coaxed into giving any statement in the absence of her lawyers.
The statement came up after Maribe’s Lawyer Katwa Kigen complained that her client has been blackmailed into giving statements while in detention.
Meanwhile as the investigations continue, a handbag belived to belong to the late Monica has been found at the journalist house.
The revelation has also called for more statements from the journalist friends. Her fiancé Joseph Irungu still remains in custody as he the main suspect in the gruesome death of Ms. Monica.

Detectives have so far been able to have impounded a car belonging to Jacque Maribe that is believed to have been used during the murder.
