Court lifts Governor Okoth Obado 20km ban from Homa Bay

The High Court has lifted the ban on Migori Governor Okoth Obado from going past 20Km radius from Migori-Homabay border.

Through his lawyer Kioko Kilutumi, Governor Okoth Obado submitted that he could not effectively discharge his duty due to the strict orders issued to him.

In his defense, Governor Obado through his lawyer said that he will not interfere with any witnesses as earlier claimed.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado was charged alongside his PA for the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby.

Governor Obado also pleaded with the court to allow him to visit his ancestral village in Rapogi, located 11 KM from Homa Bay County.

Initially the Migori Governor was blocked from going near Homa Bay for the fear of threatening witnesses.
