Court of Appeal uphold Alfred Keter’s election

Nandi MP Alfred Keter can now rest with ease after the Court of Appeal overturned the High Court ruling that had nullified the election of Mr. Alfred Keter as the MP elect of Nandi.

Court of Appeal upheld Mr Alfred’s election after the Nandi MP challenged the previous ruling that was filled by Bernard Kibor who vied as an independent candidate.

Led by lawyers Otiende Amollo,Alfred Keter told the Court of Appeal bench consisting of Justice Erastus Githinji, Hannah Okwengu and Jamilah Mohammed that the High Court ruling was made without proper evidence.

Mr Keter told the three man bench that his election campaign was legal and therefore his election should be upheld.

“The High Court used a single ground that Keter campaigned in six places on August 6, last year, but we have argued that there was no evidence to that effect,” said lawyer Otiende Amollo.

In addition to the Amollo also said”The High Court used one ground that Keter campaigned in six places, but we have argued that there was no evidence to that effect,”
