An 83-year man from Embu has been sentenced to 30-years in jail for irregularly obtaining a piece of land.
Mr. Evanson Kihumba is accused of illegally obtaining a piece of land valued at 12 million from Nyaga Kombuthi.
In his defense, he said that he had obtained the controversial piece of land from one Paul Kamara who has longed passed on.

The court found Evanson guilty of six counts including that of a false oath when he purported the land registration documents of the land had been burnt and that he required new ones.
Other counts including the forging of documents and false purchase of the land that he insisted was sold to him by the deceased Paul Kamara.
Kombuthi had been sued by Nyaga’s son Silus Murithi who had witnesses aligned before the court to testify.
Magistrate Samuel Mutai found the accused guilty as he expressed satisfaction from the evidence brought before him.
He then fined the accused Ksh 200,000 for each offense committed in addition to a five-year jail term on each count
