Court sentences two thieves to two years for stealing maize

Two thieves have been sentenced to two years in prison for breaking into a house and stealing two bags of maize.

The two who have been identified as Alex Kemboi and Jose Loreng appeared before a Nakuru court to answer the charges leveled against them.

Margaret Maitherero the victim confirmed before the court that she arrived home only to find her two bags of maize were missing.

She resorted to following the maize grain trail left behind that led her to the burglar’s place of hiding.

Alex and Jose admitted to the theft blaming hunger for driving them into stealing the bags.

It was also heard before the court the two were also involved in another theft stealing two pairs of trousers and a vest estimated to cost Ksh 1,050.

The second victim identified as Musa Muyiya confirmed to have arrived home on that fateful Sunday only to find his clothes missing.

His search led him to the house of the two burglars and found his possessions.
