Kenya has on Friday confirmed 1,437 new cases of COVID-19 from a total 10,764 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The new cases which represents a positivity rate of 13.4% comprises of 1,377 Kenyans and 60 foreigners now pushes the cumulative number of cases and samples to 218,713 and 2,239,082 respectively.
“Today 1,437 people have tested positive for the disease, from a sample size of 10,764 tested in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate is now 13.4%. Total confirmed positive cases are now 218,713 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 2,239,082.” Said Ministry of Health.

In the same 24 hours, 1,056 patients have recovered from the virus 963 of them coming from home-based care and 963 from various health facilities in the country. Cumulative number of recoveries now stand at 201,054.
Unfortunately, 29 patients succumbed to the virus pushing the cumulative number of recoveries in the country to 4,302. All the deaths are from late death reports from the month of April, May, June, July and August 2021.
