COVID-19 cases in Kenya rise to 179, 7 more confirmed

Kenya through the Ministry of Health has confirmed seven more COVID-19 cases rising the number to 179.

Confirming to Kenyans on daily coronavirus updates, CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi confirmed the seven new cases arising in the last 24 hours.

She further confirmed that all the seven are from Kenya, four of them being imported from outside the country while three are from individuals followed up by health officials.

Nairobi continues to lead with five of the cases coming from the county, one from Mombasa and one other from Uasin Gishu County.

Women led in today’s numbers with four cases while men were three.

Dr. Mercy urged Kenyans to follow the measures issued by the ministry to defeat COVID-19 in the country.

She also noted how the virus is largely found with proactive citizens as only 13 people above the age of 50 have tested positive.
