The number of fatalities from COVID-19 in Kenya have risen by 19 to 1,349 in the last 24 hours as confirmed by Ministry of Health.
“On a sad note, another 19 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the fatality to 1,349. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones.” said Ministry of Health.
The news come at a time when the country equally recorded 1,048 new cases of the virus from 8,660 samples tested so far.

This now brings to 75,193 the number of confirmed cases and 823,700 the cumulative number of samples tested since the first case was confirmed in the country.
“1,048 people have tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 8,660 tested in the last 24 hours, bringing to 75,193 the number of confirmed positive cases in the country. The cumulative tests are now 823,700. 1,018 are Kenyans and 30 are foreigners.” said MOH
On a positive note, 326 patients recovered from the disease, 219 of them from home-based care and the rest from various hospitals. This now brings to 50,984 the number of confirmed recoveries.
“Today, 326 patients have recovered from the disease, 219 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 107 have been discharged from various hospitals. The total recoveries now stand at 50,984.” said MOH
