COVID-19: Five more die as new positive cases rise by 136

The number of new positive cases of COVID-19 in the country have risen by 136 to 35,020 from 3,707 samples tested.

This also brings the cumulative number of samples tested to 471,384 with the number of foreigners being 12 and the rest are all Kenyans.

In terms of age, the youngest is 8-months and the oldest 75-years.The number of males is 85 and females 15.

Distribution of the new positive cases by county, Nairobi leads with 35, Mombasa 25,Kajiado 11, Turkana 9, Kisumu 9, Migori 8, Nyandarua 7, Kilifi 7, Embu 6, Uasin Gishu 4, Busia 3, Kisii 3,Baringo 2, Kakamega 2,Elgeyo Marakwet 1, Tharaka Nithi 1, Kiambu 1, Kitui 1 and Trans Nzoia 1.

In the same 24 hours, 99 patients recovered from the virus bringing the number of recoveries in the country to 21,158.

The number of deaths has however gone up to 594 after five more patients succumbed to the virus.
