Kenya has confirmed 48 new positive cases of COVID-19 from 1,081 samples collected and tested in the last 24 hours.
The new cases now bring to 36,205 the total number of confirmed cases and the number of samples tested to 498,733.
All the new cases are Kenyans with no foreigners as it has been the case, the number of males was 31 as that of females was 17 with the youngest being 12-years and the oldest 75-years.

In terms of distribution per county, Mombasa took the lead for the second day in a row with 20 cases, Nairobi 15, Tharaka Nithi 4, Kiambu 2, Kilifi 2, Meru 2, Machakos 1, Wajir 1 and Homabay 1.
At the same time, 176 patients recovered from the virus as confirmed by CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi bringing to 23,243 the number of recoveries in the country.
Out of the recoveries, 131 were from various hospitals and 45 were from home-based care as revealed by the Health CAS.
Sadly, two patients were confirmed to have succumbed to complication brought about by the virus bringing the number of confirmed deaths to 624.
