A total of 650 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Kenya arising from 6,768 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The new cases push the total confirmed cases in the country to 28,754 with the number of Kenyans being 633 and that of foreigners being 17.

Out of the positive cases, 391 are males with the number of females being 259. In terms of age, the youngest was 1-year and the oldest 97-years.
“650 more people have tested positive from 6,768 samples tested in the last 24 hours bringing the total to 28,754 & our cumulative is 375, 859. Kenyans are 633 & 17 foreigners. 391 are males, & 259 females. Youngest is 1 years, oldest 97 years.” Said Dr. Mercy Mwangangi
On a good note, 490 people recovered bringing to 15,100 the number of recoveries. 308 of the recoveries were from home-based care and 182 from various hospitals in the country.
“490 patients have recovered from the virus. 308 are from home-based program & 182 discharged from various hospitals. Our total number of recoveries stands at 15,100. I want to appreciate our Healthcare workers for this great achievement.” Said Dr. Mercy Mwangangi.
In the same 24 hours, 4 patients succumbed to the virus bringing the number of deaths to 460.
“Unfortunately, 4 patients have succumbed to the virus bringing the total number of fatalities to 460. My sincere condolences to the families & friends of all those who have lost their loved ones.” Said CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi.
