COVID-19: Kenya records 1 death and 88 recoveries

The country has on Saturday recorde5.d 181 new cases of COVID-19 from a total of 5,577 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Currently, the cumulative number of confirmed cases stand at 105,648 and the cumulative number of tests conducted stand at 1,295,556.

“Today 181 people have tested positive to the disease, out of a sample size of 5,577 tested in the last 24 hours. The total confirmed positive cases are now 105,648. The cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,295,556.” Said Ministry of Health.

Distribution of the new cases is as follows; Nairobi 104 cases, Kiambu 20, Busia 11, Nakuru 9, Kisumu 5, Mombasa 5, Machakos 5, Taita Taveta 4, Turkana 4, Embu 2, Kajiado 2, Kakamega 2, Kilifi 1, Makueni 1, Meru 1, Migori 1, Murang’a 1, Nyeri 1, Bungoma 1 and Uasin Gishu 1.

On a positive note, 88 patients have recovered from the virus pushing the cumulative number of recoveries in the country to 86,609. Out of the recoveries, 46 are from home-based care and the rest from various hospitals across the country.

“88 patients have recovered from the disease, 46 from various health facilities, while 42 are from the Home Based and Isolation Care. Total recoveries are now 86,609.” Said Ministry of Health.

Unfortunately. 1 patient succumbed to the virus pushing the cumulative number of deaths in the country to 1,854.

“One patient has succumbed to the disease pushing our cumulative fatalities to 1,854. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the departed” Said MOH
