COVID-19: Kenya records 123 new cases and 4 deaths

Kenya through the Ministry of Health has recorded 123 new cases of COVID-19 from 4,948 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The new cases now rise the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the country to 98,555 and the cumulative number of samples to 1,102,595.

From the cases, 111 of them are Kenyans with 12 being foreigners. In terms of gender 74 of the cases are male and 49 being females aged between 1-year and 85-years.

Distribution of the cases is as follows; Nairobi 62, Nyeri 9, Embu 8, Busia 7, Narok 6, Kajiado 5, Nakuru 4, Makueni 3, Mombasa 3, Nyamira 2, Kiambu 2, Kilifi 2, Machakos 2, Meru 1, Migori 1, Kitui 1, Murang’a 1, Garissa 1, Nandi 1, Siaya 1 and Uasin Gishu 1.

On a positive note, 412 patients have recovered from the disease rising the number of recoveries in the country to 81,667.

The recoveries comprise of 378 home-based care patients and 34 patients from various hospitals across the country.

Unfortunately, 4 more patients have succumbed to the virus in the same 24 hours rising the number of fatalities in the country to 1,720.
