COVID-19: Kenya records 130 new infection and 5 deaths

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has on Wednesday confirmed 130 new cases of COVID-19 infection rising the confirmed cases to 37,348.

The new infections are reported from 3,874 samples tested in the last 24 hours bringing to 523,998 the number of samples tested so far.

Only seven of the new cases are foreigners with the rest being Kenyans, all aged between the age of 3-years and 90-years.

Addressing the media from Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital, the Health CS noted Nairobi led with the highest of new cases at 35.

Kiambu came second with 23, Kisumu 19, Mombasa 14, Uasin Gishu 8, kericho 6, Kisii, 5, Busia 5, Kilifi 5, Bomet 2, Narok 2 as Siaya, Trans Nzoia, Turkana, Kajiado and Machakos recorded a case each.

In the same 24 hours, a total of 106 patients recovered from the disease bringing to 24,253 the number of confirmed recoveries.

All recoveries are from various hospital across the country except 25 who are home-based care patients.

Unfortunately, another 5 patients passed away from the virus rising the number of fatalities in the country to 664.
