Kenya through the Ministry of Health has on Monday confirmed 53 new cases of COVID-19 bringing to 38,168 the total number confirmed cases in the country.
The new cases are from 1,107 samples tested in the last 24 hours comprising of 50 Kenyans and 3 foreigners.
“53 people have tested positive of coronavirus from a sample size of 1,107 tested in the last 24 hours, bringing to 38,168 the total number of confirmed cases in the country. All the cases are Kenyans except 3 who are foreigners.

Distribution of the cases by Counties is as follows; Nairobi 11, Meru 11, Kiambu 6, Uasin Gishu 6, Nakuru 4, Kajiado 3, Garissa 2, Busia 2, Laikipia 2, Machakos 2, Makueni 1, Embu 1, Kisumu 1 and Kwale 1.” Said MOH
On a positive note 60 patients have recovered from the virus rising the number of recoveries to 24,681.
The recoveries comprise of 36 home-based patients and 24 patients from various hospitals across the nation.
“Today, 60 people have recovered from the disease, 36 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 24 have been discharged from various hospitals. Total recoveries now stand at 24, 681.” Said MOH
Unfortunately, a total of 9 patients died from the disease bringing to 700 the number of COVID-19 fatalities in the country.
“Today, 9 patients have succumbed to the disease brings the fatality to 700. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones.” Said MOH
