COVID-19 update: Kenya confirms 83 new positive cases

The Ministry of Health has on Sunday confirmed a total of 83 new positive cases of coronavirus from 3,093 samples tested.

The new cases rise the national tally to 35,103 and the cumulative samples tested to 474,477.

Out of the new cases 77 of them are Kenyans and 6 are foreigners with the youngest case being 1-year and the oldest being 85-years-old.In terms of gender, the number of males are 58 and females 25.

“83 more people have tested positive for Coronavirus from 3,093 samples, raising tally to 35,103 in the Country . Cumulative tests stands at 474, 477. From the new cases, 77 are Kenyans & 6 are foreigners.

At the same time, 72 patients recovered from the virus rising the tally of recoveries to 21,230.The recoveries comprised of 39 home-based patients and 33 from various hospitals.

“Today, 72 patients have recovered from the disease. 39 are from home-based care program & 33 discharged from various hospitals. Total recoveries stands at 21, 230.” Said Ministry of Health.

The number of fatalities hiked to 597 after three patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.

“Unfortunately, 3 patients have succumbed to the virus bringing our falities to 597. Condolences to the family & friends of those who have lost their loved ones.” Said Ministry of Health
