The Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai and Interior CS Fred Matiang’I have promised to take immediate action of the JKUAT case highlighted on Monday.
In a video that made rounds on Monday, police officers used excessive force to restore order when students of JKUAT took to the streets to protest insecurity on the campus.
A female student who was not lucky enough fell to the hands of the police who brutally assaulted her as seen in the video.
In response to the issue, CS Matiang’I vowed to take action within the next 24 hours and ensure that those culpable are charged accordingly.
“I have spoken to the IG and we both agree that firm and decisive action shall be taken against any officer who used excessive force, within the next 24 hours.”
