Two Cuban doctors are reported to have been abducted in Mandera by the Al-Shabaab militias.

The two doctors are among the 100 doctors who arrived into the country in June 2018 and were abducted in Mandera town.

During the attack leading to abduction, the Cuban doctors saw their bodyguard killed before they were taken into Somali.

Initial reports indicated that local doctors in Madera had fled the hospital in fear of the attacks prompting fear into the Cuban doctors.

After some time the two doctors based in Mandera reported having settled well despite the reports they have heard about Mandera.
