Commission of University Education has withdraw a letter they had previously issued revoking the clearance of Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja.
The news is a major boost to the Kenya Kwanza candidate for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat who had been subject of political questioning ahead of the August elections.
Sakaja had also been cleared by the Independent Electoral Boundary Commission (IEBC) Dispute Tribunal who noted that they do not have an investigative agency in regard to the validity of his degree certificate.

The Senator had been accused of frequently acquiring his degree certificate from Team University in Uganda with the university ordered to confirm the same.
At first the University of Nairobi noted that the super Senator did not finish his Actuarial degree with them following his enrollment in 2003.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) chipped into the matter through their boss George Kinoti who noted that the Senator was among a ring of an International gang under investigation over forging of documents.
Kinoti noted that he will involve international agencies to investigate the matter and bring to book all those found guilty of the crime. His statement saw the Nairobi Senator turn himself in for questioning but was turned away as he had not been summoned.
Kenya Kwanza Alliance led by their Presidential candidate William Ruto called on the government to stop harassing Senator Sakaja accusing the deep state of plans to bring in a candidate of their choice.
