The news comes at a time when President Ruto clipped the powers of outgoing Cabinet Secretaries and Permanent Secretaries under the Uhuru administration. Some of the restrictions include limited expenditure, inability to make appointments and restrictions to fly out of the country unless granted permission by the President himself.
In addition to that, the Ministers and state departments are not allowed to make payments exceeding Ksh 50 million without the approval of the National Treasury.
Those affected include Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i who was against Ruto’s presidency and campaigned for Azimio presidential candidate Hon. Raila Odinga who had been endorsed by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.
