DCI seize 500 kg of narcotics concealed as tea packet at JKIA

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have on Monday intercepted 500 Kg of Narcotics destined for the United States and Australia at JKIA.

The Narcotics were concealed in 52 bags as tea packets were intercepted during a screening at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

“500Kgs of Narcotic ‘Dry Khat’-packed in 52 bags-concealed as Tea Packets, sent by various Exporters and destined to the United States, Australia & Austria was intercepted yesterday by DCI detectives during a screening at JKIA. KRA had issued a Seizure Notice on the goods. “  Said the DCI.

DCI seize Heroine

Last week the DCI jointly with other stakeholders seized heroine concealed as lip gloss at the JKI.

The lip gloss totaled to 48 pieces and they were destined for Port Harcourt in Nigeria as revealed from the arrest.

Last week, DCI detectives based at JKIA working jointly with other stakeholders seized Narcotic drugs (Heroin) concealed in boxes of Lip Gloss totaling to 48 pieces. The consignment was registered to be airlifted from Nairobi to Port Harcourt in Nigeria.” Said the DCI
