Matatu and taxi drivers in Nyeri lit tyres and blocked roads in protest of poor roads in the area despite their numerous pleas to their MP.
In on voice they said that their MP Mr. Ngunjiri has neglected their pleas and enough is enough.
Some of the protestors carried banana leaves saying that Mr. Ngunjiri is busy fighting the government instead of fighting for them.
Accompanied by area MCA Paul Kanyare, the angry residents called on the Deputy President William Ruto to come to their rescue terming the roads as gardens.

They further added that they have in numerous occasions addressed the grievances to Mr. Ngunjiri but nothing has been done to date.
Matatus plying the affected route were forced to use alternatives routes due to the poor infrastructure in the area.
