It is not yet clear why Itumbi was arrested but it is alleged that it is due an assassination letter addressed to the Deputy President William Ruto.

Word has it that detectives looking into the alleged assassination of DP William Ruto are closely following up two suspects.

On Monday Itumbi accused Daily Nation for lowering standards of journalism when they published an article on his imminent arrest by DCI detectives.

He said that as journalist they did not bother to call or text any of the communication officers in the office of the President.

“Journalism is at its lowest form, when @dailynation pens a story & reproduces allegation after allegation – but does not bother to call or text any of the communication officers in the Presidency they claim are being sought by @DCI_Kenya & are in hiding. Objective verification” Said Itumbi on twitter.

Why Dennis Itumbi was arrested

Last month four Cabinet Secretaries were grilled at the DCI headquarters for allegedly plotting the assassination of the Deputy President at Hotel La Mada in Thika.
