Detectives rescue 25 female Burundians trafficked in Kiambu

Detectives from the Transnational Organized Crime raided a house in Kiambu County and rescued 25 female victims from Burundi.

Acting on intelligence the detectives raided the home of Mr. Nicholas Mugambi Waigwa before rescuing the 25 Burundians.

During the raid, the traffickers namely Ms. Mercy Kaaia, Ms. Lydia Wairimu, and Ms. Nyambura were arrested.

“Detectives from the Transnational Organized Crime,acting on intelligence,raided the home of Mr.Nicholas Mugambi Waigwa & rescued 25 female victims of Human Trafficking-all Burundians. The Human Traffickers-Ms. Mercy Kaaia, Ms. Lydia Wairimu & Ms. Susan Nyambura Nganga arrested.” Said the DCI

The victims are sad to be in the age between 24 years and 33 years and they were on transit to Asian countries.

“The victims-all aged between 24 years and 33 years-were being held hostage at the said home in Gwa-Kairu area in Kiambu County pending transit to Asian countries.” Said the DCI.
