What started as a normal day for the MP who visited Baptist Lurare Primary School for the official launch of the classrooms ended in shock after finding them locked by the singer come contractor.

According to Steve, he cannot allow the MP to open the classrooms without completing his payment and that he had planned the ceremony without informing him.
A bitter exchange of word ensued between the singer and Didmus Barasa who slapped him before his security detail stepping in and charging at anyone after the Legislator.
The whole ceremony was forced to stop as the singer filed a complaint with the police.
The incident has been criticized by fellow politician who questioned the bottom up approach being preached by DP William Ruto and his allied including MP Didmus Barasa.
“Steve Kay is a famous Luhyia Musician. He is a proper hustler. He sought to uplift himself by constructing classrooms for Kimilili CDF in between his singing gigs. But once the job was done, instead of a payment he received a beating from tangatanga.” Said Edwin Sifuna.
