The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has successfully challenged the acquittal of former Kipipiri MP Amos Kimuya in Ksh 60 million land graft case.
Justice Esther Maina of the High Court found that the appeal by the prosecution had merit as she ordered the accused to put up a defense team on the matter.
“The DPP has successfully challenged the acquittal of former MP, Amos Kimunya and others in the Ksh. 60 million land graft case. Justice Esther Maina found merit in the DPP’s appeal and ordered that the accused be put on their defense.” Said ODPP

Both Kimunya and Lilian Wangiri, former Ministry of Lands Director of Land Adjudication and Settlements were warned that arrest warrants will be issued if they fail to appear before the court on 11th October.
“Justice Maina warned Kimunya and Lilian Wangiri, former Ministry of Lands Director of Land Adjudication and Settlements that arrest warrants will be issued against them should they fail to appear before Chief Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi on 11, October, 2022.
The DPP was represented by SADPP, Alexander Muteti, SADPP, Vincent Monda, ADPP, Solomon Njeru, SPPC, Caroline Kimiri and PPC, Christine Ndombi.” Said ODPP
