The office of the DPP has received duplicate files from EACC to inquire Ksh 7.8 billion regular procurement of COVID-19 emergency supplies at KEMSA.
“The DPP has today received from the EACC Kenya the duplicate inquiry file on the irregular procurement and fraudulent payments in relation to the purchase and supply of COVID-19 emergency commodities Kemsa Kenya officials worth Kshs. 7.8 Billion.” Said the office of DPP.

To complete its inquiry, the DPP has appointed a senior prosecution team which will in turn revert its report within 14 days.
“The DPP has consequently appointed a team of senior prosecutors to undertake an independent and comprehensive review of the file and submit their findings within the next 14 days.” Said DPP
The Ksh 7.8 billion scandal caused a lot of anger in the country forcing the President direct the DPP and EACC to conduct and conclude investigations within 14 days.
His directive attracted praise from outside countries in the fight against corruption in the country and especially on donor funds meant to lift the lives of needy Kenyans.
