Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, the CAS of Health has confirmed 98 new COVID-19 cases which she said are from 3,270 tests done.
This now brings the cumulative number of tests conducted to 502,003 and the cumulative confirmed positive cases to 36,301.
The Health CAS also confirmed only 8 of the new cases are foreigners with the others are Kenyans comprising of 70 males and 26 females. In terms of age distribution, the youngest is 5-years and the oldest 81-years.
Nairobi leads with 26 new cases, Kisii 10, Busia 8, Mombasa 7,Uasin Gishu 7, Kisumu 7, Machakos 6, Kericho 5, Kilifi 4, Samburu 2, Nakuru 2, Kajiado 2, Kiambu 2, Embu 1, Bomet 1, Kakamega 1, Makueni 1, Trans Nzoia 1, Meru 1, Narok 1 and Taita Taveta 1.
On a positive note, 121 patients recovered from the virus out of which 97 of them are from home-based care and the rest from various hospitals across the country.This now brings to 23,364 the number of recoveries.
At the same time, 10 more patients died from the disease bringing to 634 the total number of fatalities.
