Dr. Nira Patel, a dental surgeon succumbs to COVID-19

Kenya is again mourning the death of another senior doctor Dr. Nira Patel who succumbed to COVID-19 complications.

Dr. Nira Patel who was a dental surgeon has been described as a mentor to many as she recently acquired membership to the Kenya Dental Association of Kenya.

“We mourn the passing on of Dr. Nira Patel due to COVID-19 complications. A dental surgeon specialized in orthodontics,a mentor to many & was recently bestowed with the life membership of the Kenya Dental Association. Condolences to the family & friends. May her soul Rest In Peace” said KMPDU

The news comes hours after the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union mourned the death of another senior doctor Anthony Were from the virus.

Dr. Anthony is reported to have been at the ICU for two weeks before he eventually succumbed to the virus on Friday.

“KMPDU mourns the loss of eminent nephrologist Prof A J O Were who has succumbed to COVID19 complications. He was the president of the African Association of Nephrology & Deputy Director of the East African Kidney Institute. A teacher & mentor to many,he leaves a great legacy.

Heartfelt Condolences to the family, friends and the medical fraternity. The union urges the government to unconditionally implement ALL demands in the strike Notice.” said KMPDU
