EACC arrest former Garsen MP Danson Mungatana over graft

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives have on Wednesday night arrested former Garsen MP Danson Mungatana over an alleged graft of Ksh 51.5 million from Kilifi County.

The former MP was arrested alongside six others in Nairobi and taken to Malindi. The six include four Kilifi County government officials and two business people.

A businesswoman alleges that the former MP used his companyto scam Kilifi County government amount totaling to Ksh 9.1 million.

The officials involved in the alleged scam are said to haveapproved payments alongside Local Service order (LSO) which were indeed fakeare revealed by EACC detectives.

Upon the release of the cash, none of the said goods wereindeed supplied to the County government.

The company owned by the businesswoman is called ZohalService Limited, run by Lucy Wanjugu who was named as part of the loot.

Wanjugu is said to have named the former MP .
