Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has come out to dismiss a passage by Sunday Nation suggesting that the DPP has picked up a war with the commission.
The commission confirmed that the two agencies enjoy a professional relationship that saw the recent conviction of Youth Enterprise Development Fund case suspects.
“Our attention is drawn to an article appearing on page 11 of the Sunday Nation today 10th October 2021 under the headline “Haji conflicts with investigative agencies.” The article contains a misleading passage which suggests that the DPP has started a war with EACC.

We wish to inform the Kenyan public that EACC continues to enjoy a cordial and professional relationship with the ODPP that has resulted in several high profile prosecutions including securing a conviction in the Youth Enterprise Development Fund case as recently as 30 Sept. 2021.” Said EACC
EACC condemned the statement in the strongest terms referring it as attempts by the media to cause conflicts between two state agencies in the country.
“EACC condemns in very strong terms the poorly disguised attempts by sections of the media to sow seeds of disharmony between law enforcement agencies. We reiterate our commitment to work closely with all other institutions mandated to combat corruption in Kenya.” Said EACC
