EACC freezes City Hall Procurement officer’s properties and motor vehicles

Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) has obtained court orders to freeze nine prime properties and eleven motor vehicles belonging to City Hall Procurement Officer.

The officer is believed to have received bribes worth Ksh 40 million through deals from the year 2014 when his total salary from that period is Ksh 2.1 million.

“EACC has secured court orders freezing 9 prime properties & 11 motor vehicles belonging to Michael Ajwang, City Hall Procurement Officer believed to have received over KES.40M in bribes from tender deals since 2014. Total salary for the period is 2.1M.” Said EACC

Among those under investigation is Hydeout Riviera Limited, a three-star high-end hotel situated along the Kisumu-Bondo road.

“Among the 9 properties targeted for forfeiture to the State, if confirmed to have been acquired from proceeds of corruption, is a high-end three-star hotel, called The Hydeout Riviera Limited, situated along Kisumu-Bondo Road.” Said EACC

The commission has once again warned state officers from engaging in corruption s it causes great pain to citizens.

“The Commission continues to urge public officials to desist from abusing the public trust and engaging in corrupt conduct. This causes great pain and suffering to citizens. Everyone should live within their means.” Said EACC
