Speaking to Standard Media, a top official at the commission revealed that the raid did not only target the governor’s office but also that of the finance department in the county.

He continued by revealing that they are investigating a tender that was issued by the county back in 2019 and that they will head to other departments as the case progresses.

So far no one was arrested during the raid but EACC officers warn that they may make arrests if those under investigation fail to corporate fully.

Also under investigation is an investment forum that never happened even though millions of taxpayer money was spent.

The same allegations were confirmed back in 2019 when the county Speaker Ndegwa Wahome spoke on the issue revealing that Ksh 13 million was spent by private entities as alleged.

In addition to Ksh 13 million, Ksh 1.4 million is reported to have been paid to the investors as he promised that it will be paid for by all means necessary.
