Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed has unveiled an application that will be used to track the number of pregnancies in Kenyan Schools.
The application has been created after a shocking statistic revealed many young girls have fallen pregnant in the last three years.
Speaking in Nanyuki, Education CS Amina Mohammed said that the application will be distributed to all schools and gather all information ranging three years back.
She continued by saying that her ministry has partnered with an International agency and civil groups to ensure that pregnancies among school going girls is curbed.
In Kenya, Kilifi County recorded the highest number of pregnancies standing at 13,000 last year alone.

While releasing KCPE results on Monday in Mombasa, CS Amina Mohammed said that she was shocked by the statistics involving teenage pregnancy.
To her dismay she even termed it as a next national disaster if nothing is done.
Addressing various stake holders and media houses, she blamed the parents for failing in their duties when they cannot know where their children at when away from home. She urged parents to take full responsibility of their children.
