Egerton University has on Wednesday been closed indefinitely following protests by students.

The agitated students run riot at the school over the management decision to lock them out of exams due to fee arrears.

A notice circularised by the university indicated that the decision was arrived at following a meeting held on Wednesday.

The notice further issues a notice to all students to vacate the premise by 2:30 pm on the same day.

Some of the students said they were to be blocked from sitting the exams set for Thursday, December 5th.

Others had made the payments after the issued deadline date rendering them unavailable at the exam centers.

Student leaders from the university are reported to have gathered the affected students calling for protests claiming the management was not dealing with their grievances.
