El Clasico: Real Madrid thrash Barcelona at Nou Camp

Real Madrid proved a tougher side in the evening netting three goals past Barcelona in the first El Clasico of the season.

The host came from behind once through Ansu Fati three minutes after Benzema squared in a pass for Valverde in the 5th minute of the match.

It was still a tie in the first half until the 63rd minute when Sergio Ramos was tackled in the penalty box and a penalty was awarded after a VAR review. The Spaniard double the lead for the visitors.

Lucas Modric sealed the three points for Zidane’s side when the Neto bounced off the ball and falling in the legs of the Croatian who squeezed it past two Barcelona players for the third.

It was the second consecutive defeat for Barcelona in La Liga following a shocking 1-0 defeat by Getafe last week.

They now lie in position 12 in the standings with seven points from five matches played. Real Madrid lead the table with 13 points from six outcomes.
