Nairobi Members of the County Assembly (MCA) are planing to table a motion against Speaker Beatrice Elachi for failing to table a special sititng.
The sitting which was requested by Minority Leader David Mberia was to set a battle seeking the impeachment of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
Speaker Beatrice Elachi however defended herself saying she was in consultation with the Attorney General’s office following the arrest of Governor Sonko.

The impeachment is however gaining momentum as Minority whip Peter Imwatok is collecting enough signatures to have the emotion get going at the assembly.
Majority Leader Charles Thuo has dismissed the signature collection promising not to let the impeachment have its way at the assembly.
Speaking Elachi trouble began when she is reported to have failed to sitting with the Minority Whip on the proposal.
The news coma at a time when the Nairobi Governor wrote a urgency letter barring Speaker Beatrice Elachi from taking over his duties at the county.
At the same time the Council of Governor lead by Kakamega Governor Wyclife Oparanya have tabled a look into laws that bar governors from resuming their duties once prosecuted.
Judge Mumbi Ngugi’s rulling on impeachment
Two days ago the Court of Appeal upheld the ruling of High Court Judge Mumbi Ngugi which requested prosecuted Governors not to report back to their office.
The decision was termed to have lacked any ill reasons but to bring back trust to citizens on dealing with graft charges.
The ruling was a blow to Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulalu, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
