Elachi vows to recover 2-year salary from Jubilee MCA

Nairobi County Speaker Beatrice Elachi has vowed to ensure that a two-year salary from Ms. Habiba Hussein is recovered.

This follows a report by Power and Privileges Committee stating that Ms. Habiba has never attended a sitting since 2017.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that the Jubilee MCA had been hospitalized and under medical check-up ever since she lost her baby.

Speaking to Capital News, Elachi questioned the timing of revelation claiming that she never followed the proper procedures.

The Power and Privileges Committee also questioned the MCA claiming that she never attended a citing to defend her absence.

It is due to that they found the MCA guilty of gross misconduct as stipulated by the constitution.

Defending the Jubilee MCA was Senator Milicent Omanga who questioned the timing of the revelations.

She went ahead to blame the Speaker for the woes happening to the MCA following her ties with the Nairobi Governor.

Omanga revealed how Ms. Habiba endured a complicated pregnancy and even lost her baby afterward.

She has since been in and out of the hospital as she produced medical reports to back up her claim.
