The Judiciary and Chief Justice David Maraga is mourning the death of Elvis Michieka the Principle Magistrate of Mombasa Law Courts who passed away on Wednesday.
Chief Justice David Maraga confirmed his death saying he was at Karen Hospital receiving treatment for the last two weeks.

” I am deeply saddened to announce the demise of Hon. Elvis Michieka, a Principal Magistrate at the Mombasa Law Courts. Hon. Michieka died this morning at the Karen Hospital In Nairobi where he had been undergoing treatment over the last two weeks.” said CJ David Maraga.
The CJ termed the Principal Magistrate as a devoted Magistrate who rendered services with exceptional diligence and dedication. Just last month he had been interviewed for promotion and was waiting for the results of the exercise.
“On behalf of the Judicial Service Commission and on my own behalf, I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and the entire legal fraternity for this shocking loss.” Said CJ David Maraga.
