Ethiopian Airlines heading to Nairobi involved in an accident

An Ethiopian Airline with 157 people on board has been involved in an accident on Sunday as confirmed by the airline itself.

In a statement, Ethiopian Airline said that the airline flight number ET 302 was involved in an accident on March 10th in schedule service from Addis Ababa to Nairobi around Bishoftu(Debra Zeit).

The aircraft is said to have left Addis Ababa, Bole International Airport at 08:38 am and lost contact at 08:44 am.

Currently search and rescue operations are in progress but nothing can be confirmed about any possible survivors or possible casualties.

Ethiopian Airline staff will also be sent to the accident scene to do everything possible to assist emergency teams.

Out of the 157 people on board the Ethiopian Airline, 149 were passengers while 8 were crew on board.

Ethiopian Airlines has also confirmed establishing an information center and a telephone number will shortly be released to the family and friends of the airline ET 302.

Further information will be released by the airline as soon as they get any updates.
