Europa League: Manchester United held by AZ Alkamar

Manchester United extended their poor season performance as they were held to a goalless goal by AZ Alkamar in the Europa League.

United missed a chance to take an early lead when forward Marcus Rashford was brought down inside the penalty spot.

A penalty plea went unanswered as there is no VAR in the Europa League matches as is the case in EPL.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer termed the pitch as the worst he has ever seen before the game kicked off.

AZ Alkamar dominated the better part of the match but failed to convert the chances into a goal.

The draw leaves Soslkajaer’s boys in second position and level on points with Partizan Belgrade who hold pole position in group L.

Its is also the fourth match that the Reds have not won in all games since the start of the season.

Pressure is pilling on once caretaker manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer to perform. Possible replacements have already making headlines across the world.
