European Council agree on Brexit extension to 31st Jan

European Council has agreed on an extension of Brexit to January 31st as announced by the Council’s president Donald Tusk.

Donald Tusk who leads European Council has however issued a green light for the UK to leave before the stipulated deadline date.

At the moment Members of Parliament are preparing for a general election set for December 12th to decide PM Boris Johnson’s proposal.

Even though the EU will listen to the UK proposal upon agreement, they will have no right to withdraw it in the future in documents seen by BBC.

The new deadline extension comes at a time when the UK has failed to meet the  31st September deadline.
