Everton cruise to victory against Tottenham

Everton who were facing Tottenham in their Premier League opener cruised to a 1- 0 victory thanks to a Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal in the 55th minute.

Carlo Ancelotti who was facing his Champions League rival Jose Mourinho had a point to prove especially in the new season.

His new signing and enforcement in the midfield paid off in the 55th when Calvert-Lewin’s header was hard for Hugo Lloris to prevent.

It was the first appearance for James Rodriguez after signing from La Liga giants real Madrid and showed his class in the midfield.

After finishing in the 12th position last season Carlo Ancelotti embarked on focusing on the transfer market where he also picked on Abdoulaye Doucoure who provided a number of great and amazing passes.

The visitors could have been ahead earlier when Richarlison went around Hugo Lloris only to lose his footing and miss a perfect opportunity for the Toffees.

Tottenham will have themselves to blame for the lose as they were attacking less unlike the team last season.

England striker Harry Kane touched the ball twice inside the penalty area unlike Son Heung-min who was lethal throughout the match.

Jose Mourinho disagreed with the goal arguing that the spot the free kick was taken was on the wrong position.
