A fake letter has emerged that has Chief Justice Maraga’s signature in it addressing Deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu.

The letter whose subject is “politicization of the case against you in court” condemns the Deputy CJ use political influence to interfere with an ongoing court case as wrong and unacceptable.

“I have noted with concern the politicization of your case, a matter before a court of law. As a seasoned judge you must know using political influence to interfere with an ongoing case in court is wrong and unacceptable.” Reads the introductory part of the letter.

Deputy CJ Philomena who was arrested following a series of accusations that are failing to pay taxes, receiving gift in form of cash and obtaining a security from now under receivership Imperial Bank.

The fake letter then proceeds to demonstrate to the public that she is a deputy head of an institution that she believes in. She should therefore show trust in the system, clear her name and prove her innocence.

In addition to that she should consider taking some time away from office until the unfortunate matter is dispensed with.

Deputy CJ’s lawyer Nelson Havi has been angered by how the Chief Justice’s signature has been misused and he has called Mr. Maraga to report the matter to the Department of Criminal Investigations and clarify the matter to the public.

“Could you report to DCI and ODPP and clarify to the matter public.” Said lawyer Nelson Havi on Twitter.

This not the first time that the Chief Justice’s signature has been misused with the last one happening during the just concluded general elections.

At the moment the case against Ms. Philomena Mwilu has been postponed as her lawyers wait for a correction in the order issued by the High Court.
