FC Barcelona has been fined 300 million Euros following the transfer of former Atletico forward Antoine Griezmann.
Barcelona is accused of approaching the player when he was still playing for Atletico Madrid.
The move by FC Barcelona prompted the reduction of his release clause from 200 million euros to 120 million Euros.
In addition to that, the Catalans are accused to have sealed the deal way before the transfer was made.
Passing the ruling, RFEF said that they have fined the Spanish giants in full awareness of its capability and as a lesson to other clubs.
They further said they would have resolved to the closure of Nou-Camp for one match but that would be unfair punishment.
Griezmann joined Barcelona in May signing a five-year deal with his former opponents who made him one of the most paid players in the world.
In 2017 Atletico Madrid are said to have filled a complaint against Messi’s side for approaching their star.
The Frenchman was strongly linked to the club so as to be the best replacement of PSG forward Neymar.
Neymar left for PSG and the link between Messi and Luis Suarez has been shaky ever since.
