Dagoreti South MP John Kiarie has been summoned by detectives from Kabete Police Station over claims he raised over coronavirus.

The youthful MP took to social media warning Kenyans of tough times following the coronavirus pandemic.

He claimed there are 7,000 cases currently in the country which the government is yet to tell Kenyans and that county governments should deal with effectively.

“We have 7,000 Kenyans in quarantine who arrived back between Wednesday and Sunday. In Dagoretti South Constituency we are hosting them at Lenana School and Kinyanjui Tech. How they got there and the chaos therein is a story for another day.

Kenya National Government must set up massive Isolation Centres around the country; over 4,000 bed isolation centres in Kasarani, Nyayo and City Stadiums in Nairobi. Over 3,000 bed Isolation centres in Mombasa and similar centres countrywide.

This cannot and must not be left to County governments. Again, even they don’t know yet just how hard this thing is about to hit the Kenya.”

The summon comes barely hours after Health CS Mutahi warned politicians from spreading contradicting information regarding the numbers.

He continued by saying such leaders will not be spared but face the law accordingly.

A Catholic priest based in Kitui County was on Saturday whisked to Mbagathi hospital to be tested for coronavirus.

A team of security officers and medical personnel stormed the house of Fr. Nicholas Maaazo before taking him away in ambulance for examination.

This after the priest who arrived in Kenya from Ireland defied self-quarantine orders visiting an ATM machine and even tried to access a supermarket which was closing for the day.

Kitui DCI boss Nzioka Singi was forced to visit the priest and warned him of arrest if he did not comply but he again continued with the behavior.

Singi is reported to have told him how lucky he was not to have any signs of the virus including high temperature but he needed to stay home.

On Saturday things changed when the medical team visited him saying he was just a suspected case who displayed some symptoms and was to undergo est to verify otherwise.

The government has hinted at hiring 1,000 health workers if the need arises to combat the deadly coronavirus.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said the plan is in play by the government when the need arises moving forward as he confirmed at the moment there are enough health workers at national hospitals.

The CS was speaking as he thanked how none of the workers has so far not been infected as has been the case in other countries.

The government is also in the process of manufacturing some of the essential goods including masks, protective gears and ventilators.

This is to ensure that they can adequately combat the virus and infections if Kenyans themselves have some of the essential goods including masks.

CS Kagwe denied allegations of some people being let out of isolation centres out of favor saying that even some of his friends have their sons in the facilities.

Politicians have been warned against taking political advantages and issuing numbers contrary to what is supposed to be announced.
