Joseph Irungi,fiance to Citizen presenter Jacque Maribe has been charged with the murder of Monica Kimani at her home in Kilani Nairobi.
Joseph popularily known as Jowi on Wednesday appeared before Kiambu Senior Principal Magistrate Stella Atambo. Her defense team consisted of four lawyers namely Cliff Ombeta, Sam Nyamberi, Mugambi Laichena and Lawrance Mbabu.
They pleaded with the court to allow their client to receive medical attention.
They spoke before the court saying that Mr. Joseph was not in his right state of mind as he has not receive proper medical attention as he still has a bullet in his shoulder.
Joseph irungu was arrested on Tuesday after it was revealed that he was at the apartment of the deceased before she met her death.
His fiance Jacque Maribe has also been questioned to confirm Joseph’s story . Maribe is said to have rushed Joseph to a hospital from his home after being shot, a statement that is contrary to the security personnel at his estate who claim they never heard any shots.
Prosecution team pleaded with the court to allow the investigating officer to be allowed to make his application before the accused is allowed to receive medical attention.
His lawyers however do no want the officer to make any applications until when he receives proper treatment.
They proceeded to say that their client was not even given any painkiller after the arrest.
