Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino scored the only game of the night to hand Jurgen Klopp his first ever FIFA Club World Cup trophy.
Liverpool was the second club from England to lift the prestigious trophy since Manchester United lifted it in 2008.
It was the second consecutive last minute goal for Firmino in the competition having netted a similar one during their semi-final draw with Monterery.
