Fifa Club World Cup: Liverpool beat Flamengo to lift cup

Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino scored the only game of the night to hand Jurgen Klopp his first ever FIFA Club World Cup trophy.

Liverpool was the second club from England to lift the prestigious trophy since Manchester United lifted it in 2008.

It was the second consecutive last minute goal for Firmino in the competition having netted a similar one during their semi-final draw with Monterery.

Senegal star Sadio Mane who brought down during the match as the referee ignored a penalty request.

He however handed a penalty as he consulted over the earlier decision he had handed but the opportunity was wasted by Liverpool’s goalscorer of the night.

Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita wasted two more chances for the EPL table holders posing no threat to goalkeeper Diego Alves.

Former Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain walked out of the field with an injury as he fell badly hurting his ankle.

Salah attempted several times to break the deadlock but his efforts failed to go past Alves at the Khalifa International Stadium.
