Fire razes down goods worth millions in Sabaki

It was business unusual at Sabaki area after a fire destroyed properties of unknown value in a godown.

The Tuesday fire caught the business owners’ off guard as they had to get help from Machakos and Nairobi County firefighters to combat it.

People gathered around the scene watching helplessly as huge smoke rented the air in the better part of the morning.

Additional reinforcement has been called upon to fight the inferno which was slowly spreading to nearby businesses.

Safety issue concerns among godowns have been raised following the inferno, as they store valuable goods that require immediate attention during such situations.

“This fire incident will awaken safety concerns among the owners and business people operating in the many expansive godowns and warehouses in Nairobi and Machakos Counties. Without sufficient safety Fire and emergency safety interventions, are they commercial death traps?” Said Saddique Shaban
